2008 Jeep Liberty
The first generation of buyers of Jeep Liberty’s had been primarily made up of women. While that is not a bad thing it certainly wasn’t the intention of the designers. The initial Jeep Liberty had a decidedly cute look about it that seemed to appeal to women. In the 2008 Jeep Liberty that cute look is gone. Jeep decided that the Liberty needed a masculine makeover and redesigned the 2008 Liberty to be less cute and more rugged than the previous editions.
That isn’t the only thing that the 2008 Jeep Liberty improves on. For the '08 model, Jeep improved on the road stability on the suspension of the 2008 model. With all the improvements they managed to increase their rollover rating from two stars to three.
2006 Jeep Liberty
In 2006 Jeep decided to get rid of the four-cylinder gasoline version of their Jeep Liberty. The only options available for the 2006 Jeep Liberty are the four-cylinder diesel or the 210-hp V-6. Jeep soon found out that the choice of diesel was an extremely wise decision. You're only able to obtain an automatic transmission on the diesel version of the 2006 Jeep Liberty. A manual transmission is available on the gasoline-powered version.
Once an option on previous versions of the Jeep Liberty, antilock four wheel disc brakes are now a standard feature of the 2006 Jeep Liberty. Side airbags are still an optional feature in the '06 Liberty. You can have your Liberty equipped with leather seats, heated seats, satellite radio, and Uconnect, which transforms the vehicle's audio system into a method of linking with cell phones.
With the choice of diesel as an option, 2006 was a great year for the Jeep Liberty. It is always a sturdy rugged SUV for all your off road adventures, but now it is also the vehicle of choice for stylish traveling in the city
2005 Jeep Liberty
When the 2005 Jeep Liberty hit the market it came equipped with a brand new engine and two new transmission options. The Jeep Liberty became the first SUV that was available with a diesel engine in the United States. The option of an automatic transmission or a new six speed manual transmission is another new option for the '05 Jeep Liberty.
In 2005 Jeep made some improvements in the seats. They started using dual density foam that allows for greater absorption of vibration while riding in the vehicle. The backseat of the Jeep Liberty is able to seat three comfortably with a good deal of headroom.
The cargo space available on the 2005 Jeep Liberty is considerably roomy. You should have no problem loading up a weekends worth of camping gear and setting off for the country. There are also tie downs available so your equipment doesn’t end up rolling around in the back while you take on some country roads.
